Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Tops US Box Office Charts, Sets New Opening Weekend Record For Videogame Movies
After a great deal of anticipation, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has finally premiered in theaters across the US to a great deal of positive reception.
According to figures shared by Comicbook.com, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is poised to pull in around $71 million at the US box office, a figure which easily eclipses the first film’s earnings of $58 million during the same time period, and sets a new opening weekend record for a movie based on a videogame.
In addition, not only does this mean that the film has topped the US Box office charts, but it is also the number 1 movie in the world for the weekend when combined with its international performance.
