Earlier this year, the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak forced the unfortunate delay of Paramount Pictures’ Sonic the Hedgehog movie in Japan. It’s been three months since then – and it looks like Japanese fans will finally be able to catch the film in theaters!
Paramount Pictures have confirmed via new trailers that the movie will be debuting in Japanese theaters on 26 June 2020 (Friday). As reported previously, the film follows Sonic as he lives out his life in secrecy on Earth – before getting embroiled in a giant chase by government agent Dr. Robotnik!
Check out the new Japanese trailers below:
For now, the film is still on hold in China – which would arguably be the movie’s largest market. Even without China and Japan, however, the film has been notable for smashing many box office records and even keeping pace with Detective Pikachu.
