Following its delay in China, Towa Pictures and Paramount have announced that the Sonic The Hedgehog movie will also be delayed in Japan.
In an announcement on the Japanese site for the film, Towa Pictures confirmed that Sonic The Hedgehog would not be releasing in Japan on March 27th as planned, but will be postponed to a later date.
Although this new premiere date was not shared, the distributor confirmed that those who purchased advance tickets would still be able to use them to see the movie when it eventually comes out.
Even though it wasn’t explicitly stated, it is likely that the delay was caused by concerns over the ongoing coronavirus situation, similar to the delay in China.
