Paramount, the studio behind the Sonic The Hedgehog live-action film series, is reportedly planning a new spin-off film separate from the main series.

These plans were reported on by Variety, which claims that this “Sonic Universe Event Film” has been dated for December 22nd 2028. This film is separate from the already announced Sonic The Hedgehog 4, which will release on March 19th 2027.

Fans believe that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 will likely feature the proper film debut of Amy Rose and Metal Sonic, who both appeared in the first stinger for Sonic The Hedgehog 3. Following on from this, fans speculate that this untitled spin-off will likely star Shadow The Hedgehog, the subject of the 3rd film’s second stinger. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
