This Splatfest’s Shifty Station Will Have Sealed “Containment Chambers”

The ever-changing Shifty Station will have an exciting new twist during this weekend’s “Chicken vs Egg” Splatfest.

Shifty Station is only available during Splatfests, and each event brings with it an entirely new stage layout. Previously, this has been used to include features like cannons, moving platforms, and invisible ground. This time around, there will be “containment chambers” that, at a certain point, will be sealed off from the rest of the map. Players who get stuck inside can leave via launchpads, but the only way to enter is to jump to a teammate or a Squid Beakon inside the chamber.

Since the layout was previously used for Japan’s “Flower vs Dumpling” Splatfest, we have some further details, courtesy of Inkipedia:

This layout contains a large center area with a glass dome suspended above it. There are also two glass boxes on each side of the stage.

When the remaining match time is 1:50, a warning will appear saying the side areas are about to seal off. At 1:40, the boxes will descend to seal off the side areas, preventing access to them for the remainder of the match, finally closing entirely at 1:30. Two platforms at the large center area will also descend to ground level, making more room for combat and inkable turf. At 0:55, another message will appear, warning the center area is about to close. At 0:50, the central dome will start descending and by 0:45 it will seal off the center area. Shortly after descending, a Launchpad will appear in the sealed off areas to allow players to get out.

Players can Super Jump to the sealed off areas if a teammate or a Squid Beakon is inside. Tenta Missiles and the Sting Ray can penetrate the glass barriers, but not the Ink Storm.
