Further details have surfaced regarding the collaboration between Splatoon 2 and Sanrio Characters. The collaboration will involve a tournament Splatfest and merch in the form of t-shirts of the characters. Read on for more details!
The Splatfests will take on a tournament style, similar to the TMNT fests ongoing in NA. The question is “Which is more cute?” The first fest will begin on 5/19 and feature Hello Kitty vs Cinnamoroll. The next will be My Melody vs Pom Pom Purin. And the final week will pit the winners against each other. We’re certain it will all be very adorable; but wait, there’s more!
As part of the collaboration, players in Japan will be able to purchase the actual Splatfest shirts featuring art of the Sanrio characters wearing adorable Splatoon gear. These can be purchased from the Nintendo website, or in Sanrio stores from mid-May.
