Square Enix, creators of the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest video games, are considering to make their own subscription based streaming service for video games.
In an interview with Engadget, Square Enix CEO Matsuda said the company had to create many variations of major titles in order for them to be playable on multiple platforms. They’re also worried whether it would be possible for players to play games released during the era of the Famicom in the future.
As such, Square Enix is looking into the possibility of creating a subscription or streaming service (imagine something like Netflix but with Square Enix video games), a place where players could exclusively play games part of the Square Enix library.
