Star Fox Character Designer Shares Special Artwork To Celebrate The Series’ 30th Anniversary
30 years ago, the original Star Fox for the SNES made its debut in the gaming world – with mind-blowing 3D gameplay that saw players saving the Lylat System with a team of fuzzy fighter pilots. While Nintendo has been quiet on this occasion, one of the game’s original developers certainly hasn’t forgotten this big day!
Takaya Imamura, the series’ character designer and whose artwork was prominently featured in Star Fox and Star Fox 2, has shared a new piece of artwork to commemorate Star Fox‘s 30th anniversary. Along with this, the creator shared a message of thanks:
フォックス!30年以上僕を支えてくれてありがとう!そして君の登場するゲームに関わったすべての人!ありがとう!
Thank you for supporting me for over 30 years, Fox! And everyone involved in the games you've appeared in! Thank you!

Imamura started his career with Nintendo in 1989, contributing as the graphic designer of F-Zero before going on to lead the art of Star Fox. While Imamura has since left Nintendo since 2021, it seems like his ties to the Star Fox series still linger.
