Star Wars: The Last Jedi Director Uses Pokemon GO To Comment On Discourse Surrounding The Film

Some of you may recall that when Star Wars: The Last Jedi first came out, the film became a hot topic of online discourse about its quality, a lot of which is resurfacing thanks to the impending release of The Rise Of Skywalker.

Over on Twitter, The Last Jedi’s director Rian Johnson seems to have shared his own take on the discussions through an unlikely source: Pokemon GO. Less than a day ago, Johnson posted the following picture of a Shadow Grimer nicknamed “Discourse” on his account:

Even though no words accompanied the post, it seems fairly obvious that Johnson is calling the discourse around the film “toxic” through this angry Grimer, one of  Pokemon’s most famous Poison types. Why he chose to convey his thoughts through Pokemon GO of all things is anyone’s guess, although its certainly creative.
