SteamWorld Dig 2 now scheduled for late Summer/early Fall 2017 launch

Image & Form has released a pretty big update on SteamWorld Dig 2, providing new details on the game’s launch window, platforms, and more.

The first important part of the update is the game’s development. Image & Form revealed that development is “pretty much finished”, and they will use the remaining time to polish the game. As such, the game’s launch window has been set to late Summer/early Fall 2017. The exact release date and price will be revealed after the team goes for a vacation.

In addition to Nintendo Switch, the game will be hitting PS4 and Steam. As for whether the game is coming to Wii U, Image & Form admitted that the Switch has “firmly taken its place by now”, meaning they will no longer make any games for the console. No word on portable versions for Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita, but the company claims they “have not forgotten where we came from”.
