Studio MDHR has no plans whatsoever to make Cuphead any easier or harder for the upcoming Switch version.
During an interview with Kotaku at Nintendo’s 2019 GDC Indie Event, Studio MDHR lead game designer and Cuphead co-director Jared Moldenhauer stated that no adjustments on the difficulty will be made for Cuphead’s Switch version. Jared also shared they wanted the Switch experience be exactly how the team intended to make it in the first place.
Here’s what he had to say:
“Some people wondered if we were going to tweak the balance or really adjust things, and I don’t see that as being fair. We wanted to let the next wave of gamers experience it exactly how we intended to make it.”
Cuphead has been revealed coming on Switch on 18th April 2019 during the Nindies Showcase Spring 2019. It will both be released in digital and retail formats and will run at 1080p 60fps in docked mode.
