The Ohio State University has a published a study researching the effects of Pokemon GO on family health.
The study was conducted between January and February 2017, with participants recruited through word-of-mouth, social media, and parks. 160 parents and 31 children took part in the study via a series of surveys.
After the study was complete, the university found that Pokemon GO had improved and fostered the social and physical well-being for children and families. The app “transcended traditional understanding of digital health” and had a unique way of engaging users regardless of their generation.
