As teased by IGN Japan earlier, Goichi “SUDA51” Suda and Hidetaka “SWERY65” Suehiro have announced a new game that’s heading for Nintendo Switch.
The project is called “Hotel Barcelona” and is described as being a “side-scrolling indie horror game”. Apparently, Suda and Swery came up with the idea as far back as 2018, and was planned to launch on the PSVR before being scrapped. However, the project has since received a new publisher in the form of Devolver Digital, who has provided a budget of 1 Million dollars for the title.
That said, there are still quite a few details that Suda and Swery have yet to finalize about the game. For now, their plan is to have it be “simple and easy to play”, with an emphasis on “suspense” rather than “horror” per say. They have also listed the Switch, Stadia and mobile devices as planned platforms.
