Following the announcement of its sequel, some new concept art from the original Super Mario Bros. Movie has surfaced online.
The artwork was first shared by freelance artist Jed Diffenderfer as part of his portfolio on his official website, although it has since been password locked.
The artwork notably showed off a number of characters who did not make it into the final film, including fan-favorite Princess Daisy, Peach’s advisor Toadsworth, Yoshi, Toadette, Birdo, and more. Other standouts include a possible backstory for Bowser being rejected by Peach in high school, and an even more epic final battle between his army and the Mushroom Kingdom.
