Awhile ago there was a rumor about Illumination Entertainment teaming up with Nintendo to make a Super Mario Bros. movie.
Today Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima told the Kyoto Shimbun that he hopes a deal will be closed with a partner for a Super Mario Bros. movie. Once everything’s set in stone, players could expect an official announcement in the near future.
Kimishima then ended off saying if everything proceeds smoothly, the Super Mario Bros. movie could premiere in cinemas as soon as 2020, the same year Super Nintendo World is scheduled to open in Osaka.
