Famitsu has published the latest sales figures for the Japanese market for the period of June 24 to June 30, 2019.
Super Mario Maker 2 debuted No. 1 on the bestseller charts with 196,153 copies sold. This makes Super Mario Maker 2 the best Super Mario Maker launch to date, as Super Mario Maker (Wii U) sold 143,514 copies at launch, while Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS debuted with 160,016 copies.
Coming in at second place is Nintendo Switch exclusive Jikkyou Powerful Proyakyu, which sold 75,505 copies in its first week. A very strong showing for a sports game like this.
Thanks to the launch of two prominent games, Nintendo Switch hardware sales were 59,184 units for the week, about double the sales of the prior week.
