Today, Super Mario Maker 2 was released in Japan, and there are many Japanese customers who were shocked and upset that they couldn’t get the touch pen.
The touch pen was offered as a pre-order bonus for Super Mario Maker 2 pre-orders in Japan. Only a limited quantity was produced. Some Japanese players were expecting the touch pens to be widely available after launch, but turns out they were wrong as most retailers only had enough pens to allocate to those who pre-ordered the game.
Here are some comments made by those shocked that the touch pens were gone so quickly:
“Managed to buy Mario Maker, but didn’t receive the touch pen.”
“I bought the Super Mario Maker 2 Limited Edition set but it didn’t come with the touch pen…”
“Bought Super Mario Maker 2 on launch day, but didn’t get the touch pen. I should have pre-ordered (cries)”
