Super Mario Run is the first Mario game to make it to the smartphone market, although there are fluctuations in users, the game is still going strong at 20 Million active users a month. This is despite the game being released more than a year ago.
Soeaking at Nintendo’s financial brief, Nintendo President, Tatsumi Kimishima, said that Super Mario Run is one of Nintendo’s evergreen titles, and that they will continue to work hard to maintain the user base.
The number of Super Mario Run downloads continues to grow, despite the fact that it was released over a year ago now. This title is maintaining a base of approximately 20 million monthly active users. And as one of our evergreen titles for smart devices, we will continue to look to it as a way to maximize the number of people who have access to Nintendo IP across an expanding number of consumers worldwide.
Despite being a watered down Mario game, and a “high-price point” for a mobile game, Super Mario Run has beaten all odds to be one of Nintendo’s most successful mobile game. You can read the full financial brief transcript here.
