Still enjoying Fortnite? Well, it looks like its developers are laughing to the bank this year too.
Analytics company Superdata has released a new report on the state of the videogaming business last year. Namely, videogames generated a massive $120.1 billion in revenue overall in 2019 – and Fortnite netted $1.8 billion of that hoard.
This places Fortnite at the top of Superdata’s charts for the second year in a row. However, it’s also a pretty significant dip from the game’s $2.4 billion earnings from back in 2018. Superdata did not comment on the drop in revenue – but did explain that various Fortnite collaborations with Star Wars and Avengers helped to prop it up, regardless.
In any case, Fortnite will probably remain on the block for quite awhile longer. We’ll report back whenever we hear more in the future.
