Industry analyst Superdata has released some updated figures for Pokemon GO‘s yearly revenue for 2020.
According to their data, Pokemon GO reportedly raked in a total of $1.92 billion in revenue for 2020, placing it at the 5th most profitable free-to-play mobile game overall for the year. This was noted as an impressive achievement given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people’s ability to go out and play.
Notably, this $1.92 billion figure is a huge jump from fellow analyst Sensor Tower’s report back in December, which estimated that Pokemon GO had earned $1.2 billion as of December 14th. It is not known whether the earlier numbers were a bit off, or if Pokemon GO did indeed manage to earn that much money in the two weeks following Sensor Tower’s report.
