Takara Tomy Unveils A Talking Pikachu Robot

Japanese toy manufacturer Takara Tomy has announced a talking Pikachu robot called HelloPika in Japan.

HelloPika is a Pikachu which responds to sounds and people who talk to it. For example, if you say “Hi!” to Pikachu, Pikachu will say “Pika Pika chu!”

Besides speaking, HelloPika is capable of many different poses and gestures. It’ll move or tilt its head towards the direction of the person interacting with it. Pikachu’s red cheeks are able to light up, too!

HelloPika is scheduled to launch August 4, 2018 in Japan. Pre-orders are now live on Amazon Japan (note: international shipping not available at time of writing, may change at any point of time).
