Team Cherry Says Silksong Is “Real, Progressing, And Will Release”

Following a frantic rumor from last week, Team Cherry has released an official statement regarding the status of Silksong.

The update comes via the official X/Twitter account of  Matthew ‘Leth’ Griffin, who is in charge of PR and marketing at Team Cherry. In response to a fan on the platform, Griffin says that the game “real, progressing and will release”. This is one of the first real updates regarding the Hollow Knight sequel’s status since release, amidst a very long period of silence from the company and delays for the game.

Previously, fans were abuzz with excitement at the possibility of Silksong having a place at the Switch 2 showcase scheduled for April 2nd 2025, due to a cryptic post and changes made to the social media account of the game’s co-creator.  However, Griffin reached out to the rumor’s originator fireb0rn to debunk it, saying that the changes were a “nothingburger”.

“Leth reached out to me to confirm there was no Silksong ARG and that the changes to William’s account and the tweet were a nothingburger. Apologies to have misled everyone. The cake was a lie.”

In the end, it seems that Silksong will remain in limbo until Team Cherry is ready to reveal more. Stay tuned for more updates as it comes.
