The end of the year is fast approaching, which means its once again time for the annual Game Awards show for 2021.
In an interview with Epic Games, Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley shared a little bit more about what we can expect from this year’s event. According to Keighley, The Game Awards 2021 will feature the “biggest lineup yet of world premieres and announcements”, with around 40 to 50 games planned to be shown:
Keighley: “You know, it’s great to have celebrities, it’s great to have music, but I think focusing really on games is important, Especially this year, there’ll be a lot of content for 2022 and 2023 that will be showing us our kind of biggest lineup yet of world premieres and announcements.
It’s definitely a very busy year in terms of the number of games we’re being pitched. We’re blessed that pretty much every developer and publisher wants to have some degree of content on the show.
…awards are about half the show, and the other half is the announcements and premieres.
Past Game Awards shows have played host to a number of big reveals for Switch, including Bayonetta 3, Sephiroth in Smash, and more. Be sure to stay tuned on this year’s show date of December 9th for all the information as it comes.
