Yesterday, Nintendo published a developer interview with the terrain designers of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as part of their hiring call for new terrain designers.
In the interview, Nintendo briefly commented on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, which its developers hope to create new gameplay experiences that exceed Breath of the Wild.
Here are their full comments as translated by NintendoSoup:
Q: Although you developed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, its sequel is currently in development, yes?
A: Yes, the sequel is currently in development. At the present time we cannot comment much about the game, but we wish to deliver new gameplay experiences that exceed the previous game to fans and users, so we will have to borrow the strength of many people to create this new title. Hence the reason why we are hiring new terrain designers at Nintendo.
