A Japanese user has conducted a test to find out how quickly different versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild runs on Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.

The test was conducted in four ways:

• Scenario 1: Switch Game Card running on Switch
• Scenario 2: Switch Game Card running on Switch 2
• Scenario 3: Switch Game Card + Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack (digital) running on Switch 2
• Scenario 4: Switch 2 Edition (digital in system memory) running on Switch 2

Results showed that Scenario 4 loaded the fastest (6.63 seconds) while Scenario 1 loaded the slowest (13.28 seconds), which shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even without an Upgrade Pack, the game loaded faster on Switch 2 hardware (10.06 seconds) than Switch hardware (13.28 seconds).

• Scenario 1: 13.28 seconds / 20.18 seconds / 12.51 seconds
• Scenario 2: 10.06 seconds / 17.43 seconds / 10.16 seconds
• Scenario 3: 6.63 seconds / 13.66 seconds / 6.81 seconds
• Scenario 4: 6.63 seconds / 11.3 seconds / 5.46 seconds
