It looks like Magnemite fans might have a pretty unique piece of Pokemon history in their hands, if they recently purchased one of the franchise’s many adorable stuffed toys.
The Pokemon Company has released a statement apologizing for an odd production error in its Pokemon Fit line of plushies. Normally, the Magnemite Pokemon Fit plushies are supposed to have their magnets oriented in different directions, as seen below:
However, a batch of Magnemite Pokemon Fit plushies that went for sale from 15 July 2020 – 15 January 2021 actually had their magnets oriented in the same direction instead, which The Pokemon Company considers inaccurate:
The Pokemon Company has since stated that it will accept exchanges of the erroneous Pokemon Fit plushie at its Japanese Pokemon Center stores – but we imagine that many folks would rather hang on to this unique version of Magnemite in their collections instead!
