It looks like some Pokemon TCG trainers may have to change up their decks moving forward, if they happen to be using a certain card as part of their team.
The Pokemon Company (TPC) has announced an official adjustment to the Pokemon TCG card “Cinderace (Sword & Shield, 36/202)“. Namely, the original card was printed with an error where it only required one energy to retreat, instead of two energy as intended. As such, TPC has mandated that this card will use the updated retreat cost of two energy – effective immediately.
Here are the full details of the change below:
Due to an error on Cinderace (Sword & Shield, 36/202), the Retreat Cost will be changed. The Retreat Cost printed on the original card was
, but it should be instead. This change is to reflect the original intent of the card, which was to have a Retreat Cost of
. Effective immediately, this Cinderace card will use the updated Retreat Cost instead of the one printed on the original card. This will be reflected in the Pokémon TCG Errata document.
As you can see in the Errata document above, it’s not all that uncommon for TPC to discover and amend such issues within the Pokemon TCG. Nevertheless, those trying to exploit the low retreat cost of this Cinderace card will probably have to rethink their strategies now…
