Earlier, The Pokemon Company revealed some of its plans for the Pokemon franchise’s big 25th anniversary – which include a collaboration with singer Katy Perry. Well, fans of the classic Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) are also in for quite a treat too!
The Pokemon Company has announced that it will be releasing oversized TCG reprints of each region’s starter Pokemon in “First Partner Packs” throughout 2021. Each TCG pack will cost $9.99 USD, and contain 3 oversized cards plus two regular booster packs.
These First Partner Packs will launch in chronologically-reverse order – with the first set featuring Galar’s three starters (Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble) until it ends with the final set which features Kanto’s starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle). The release dates for each pack are as follows:
Additionally, an oversized card binder will also be released on 26 February 2021 for $9.99 USD. It will include an oversized reprint of the original Pikachu TCG card.
