The Sonic Series Has Moved Over One Billion Copies Across Its Lifetime, Says SEGA

It looks like the prolific Sonic the Hedgehog series has achieved yet another mega milestone in its decades-long journey!

In its latest investor’s relations report for 2020, SEGA revealed that the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has moved a total of 1.14 billion copies across various titles and platforms. This includes the downloads of mobile titles such as Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces Speed Battle, which account for 350 million downloads and 50 million downloads respectively.


With Sonic’s 30th anniversary coming our way next year, we can only guess what SEGA has in store for fans! We’ll report back as we hear more in the future.
