Following its launch at the box office, The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been making waves amongst audiences globally. Well, reports are now in that even more records are being shattered by the film!
Following its second weekend at the box office, the film saw a revenue of $353.3 million domestically and $339.8 million overseas. Coupled with its earnings from Monday earlier this week, the film has now blown past $700 million total in revenue.
This makes The Super Mario Bros. Movie the number one video game adaptation of all time, surpassing both Warcraft ($439.4 million) and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu ($449.8 million).
Analysts are now anticipating that the movie will break the big $1 billion mark eventually. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
