Although Nintendo has not given users the ability to create or change their Home Theme to something other than light and dark on Nintendo Switch, the homebrew community has started becoming better at designing great looking home themes.
One example of this is a Home Theme called Mario Sticker designed by Reddit user SnowFarmers. Upon waking up the system from Sleep Mode, the user is greeted by a beautiful Super Mushroom filled with various icons from the Super Mario series:
The background features dark and clean Super Mario artwork that doesn’t distract users from anything else:
