This Is How Gorochu Looks Like In Pokemon Red And Blue

Last year, The Pokemon Company revealed there was going to be a second evolution for Pikachu called Gorochu in Pokemon Red and Blue.

According to the interview, there was an order to make a Pokemon that’s Electric type and one that’s in the third stage of evolution. That was how Gorochu, an Electric type Pokemon with fangs and horns, came about.

Before development was completed, Gorochu was canned due to game balance issues, so it never saw the day of light. Thankfully, after dataminers discovered a treasure trove of prototype Pokemon Red and Blue sprites, we now know how Gorochu was supposed to look like. Check it out below:

Gorochu

Mouse

No. 027

HT 4′ 07″

WT 119.0lb

It may be cute, but it can store unbelievable amount of electricity.

As you can tell from Gorochu’s appearance, it’s like a powered up form of Raichu with horns and fangs, as described in the last interview.
