It seems like Poké-mania has even seeped into the administration of Kansas’ capital city.
Just today, Mayor Michelle De La Isla announced that Topeka would see a temporary name change to ‘Topikachu‘ this Saturday. The move coincides with the arrival of the Pokemon Let’s Go Road Trip event at Topeka’s Zoo in Gage Park.
At the event, you’ll be able to demo Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee from 9am to 6pm.
It seems like the mayor himself is also a huge pokemon fan nowadays, calling the event a welcome occasion “for nerds like me who play Pokémon Go.” All in all, it looks like it’ll be an interesting Saturday for Topeka’s Pokemon community!
