As reported previously, big players in the videogames industry such as Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are opting to skip E3 this year – which has brought the line-up of the yearly gaming event into heavy doubt. Well, it looks like yet another titan will also be skipping out on the show this year.
In an official statement to VGC, Ubisoft has confirmed that it will not be attending the physical E3 2023 event, Instead, the company will be opting to host its own Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12 June 2023 in Los Angeles:
“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years…While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”
This year’s E3 will be the first physical one in four years, following the global COVID pandemic. It is due to run from 13 June to 16 June 2023, with the show open to the public from 15 June to 16 June 2023.
We’ll report back as we hear more in the future. Stay tuned.
