Video Creator Who Exposed Nintendo Switch Scam Threatened By Chinese Sellers

Today we have some extremely disturbing news coming from mainland China.

Silas, a popular video creator on video streaming platform BiliBili, uploaded a video exposing the ways Chinese video game sellers scam their customers. These include misleading customers with fake physical Nintendo Switch game boxes and even selling used Switch games as new.

As you would have probably expected the video uncovering these scams blew up in China. But what happened next shocked Silas and the rest of the video game community.

According to Silas, he had received around “6 to 7 threats” from sellers who were angry that their scams were exposed. Silas was sent threatening messages and packages with “hell money” (a way for the Chinese to curse someone to death) and living things. One seller even swore to “take revenge” after everything dies down.

Silas has lodged a police report and assured everyone he is safe, though he admitted that the threats have taken a toll on his physical and mental well being despite his “strong resistance to stress”. The video creator promised to continue making more videos exposing similar scams.
