MachineGames, the developers of the Wolfenstein series, recently hosted an AMA on Reddit, and one of the questions asked was whether the studio would be interested in making a Quake game.
Jerk Gustafsson, a gameplay and design lead at MachineGames, revealed that making a re-imagination of Quake 1 has always been on his bucket list. He also said working on Wolfenstein is “pretty awesome too”. Hopefully he’ll get his chance one day and we will get a new modern re-imagination of Quake 1.
Here are his full words:
Quake is the reason I got into gaming. Discovering WorldCraft and Level Design, making maps for Quake, was one of the best experiences of my life – I even still do it today. Developing a Quake game (a re-imagination of Quake 1) is and will always be on my bucket list, but working with Wolfenstein and getting to work closely with my heroes over at id Software is pretty awesome too.
