World’s First Nintendo Switch 2 Could Be Sold At A Midnight Launch Event In Hong Kong

If you’re looking to be the first in the world to purchase a Nintendo Switch 2, you might want to fly to Hong Kong instead of New York.

The Assemble Nintendo Switch store in Wan Chai, Hong Kong has announced a midnight launch event for Nintendo Switch 2. The first customers who placed their pre-order will be given the chance to pick up the console on the midnight of June 5, 2025 Hong Kong time. For reference, that is the morning of June 4 in the United States, so you could be the first in the world to pick up a Nintendo Switch 2 there.

Currently, there are no midnight launch events announced in Japan and other markets ahead of Hong Kong’s time zone, so this could be the best opportunity to be the world’s first Nintendo Switch 2 owner.

Customers that pre-order the console at Assemble will also receive a limited edition commemorative gift and a voucher that slashes HKD50 off purchases worth HKD500 or more for future transactions (the voucher cannot be used for Nintendo Switch 2 products).
