Three years ago, the sprawling adventure RPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2 landed on Nintendo Switch!
To celebrate this occasion, many fans have been submitting swathes of fan-art to showcase their love for the game. One of them is none other than the game’s main character designer Masatsugu Saito – who shared the following illustration of the game’s heroines Pyra and Mythra! Check it out in full below:
For those out of the loop, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 tells the tale of Rex – a scavenger who hauls scrap metal and treasures from the Cloud Sea that stretches across his entire world. When he inadvertently stumbles into the ancient and powerful Pyra during one of his jobs, he ends up on a journey of friendship, betrayal, and cosmic tragedy!
Xenoblade Chronicles 2‘s debut in 2017 was followed-up by the 2018 release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – the Golden Country, a prequel set 500 years beforehand. Then, longtime Xenoblade fans finally got their wish for a remake of the first Xenoblade Chronicles in the form of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – which hit the Nintendo Switch earlier this year.
