For fans of Japanese-developed titles localized to western markets, a constant bugbear has always been seeing the disconnect of English voiceovers overlaid on Japanese lip movements for in-game characters. Well, it looks like this won’t be the case for Xenoblade Chronicles 3!
Thanks to some observant fans, folks have noted that the upcoming game features different lip-syncing depending on the language that characters are speaking. For example, characters in the game seem to have different mouth movements if they speak English or Japanese.
Here’s one comparison below:
It’s not clear if this only applies to the Japanese and English voiceovers for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, or if other languages also have their own unique lip-syncing for characters. In any case, it looks like Nintendo and Monolithsoft are injecting more attention-to-detail into the game!
