In the last few years, the Yo-Kai Watch franchise saw its fortunes decline in Japan, and many thought Yo-Kai Watch 4 would experience the same.

Turns out that 10 days before its launch, Yo-Kai Watch 4 pre-orders are moving pretty well in Japan, as the game has reached No. 1 on the Amazon Japan video game bestsellers charts, surpassing Super Mario Maker 2.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Yo-Kai Watch 4 is able to maintain this momentum even after launch in order to know whether it could turn things round.
