Nintendo has revealed four major changes that are coming to New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, a compilation and Nintendo Switch port of New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U.
First, we have learned that players can now play as any character (Mario, Luigi, Toadette, Nabbit) they want in single player mode. This wasn’t possible in New Super Mario Bros. U as you’re restricted to playing as Mario. While you cannot play as any character in New Super Luigi U, players can now choose to play as Mario, not just Luigi.
Speaking of New Super Luigi U, levels now have a 200 second time limit instead of 100 seconds. Also new to the Switch port is the ability to remap controls at the pause menu.
