Previously, Niantic had announced and organised an Earth Day clean-up event worldwide for Pokemon GO players – with various in-game rewards for participating. Well, the tally is now in, and the numbers are nothing to scoff at.
Niantic revealed the rough statistics of the event over the weekend. According to them, around 17,000 players managed to gather 145 tons of rubbish across the entire globe. This amounted to a grand total of 41,000 hours of work by the players!
Once again, it’s good to see Pokemon GO bringing together the community for a good cause like this. Let’s hope Niantic continues such endeavors to make a difference to our environment – no matter how small the impact.
