u/DeathChaos25 has shared the findings of a datamine he conducted on Fire Emblem Three Houses and shows details of what Lunatic mode will bring to the gameplay in terms of difficulty.

Currently, bosses in the game will stay still meaning that you can focus on taking out surrounding opponents without having to worry about the most powerful enemy on the battlefield coming after you. But Lunatic mode changes that by granting the boss the ability to chase you down on the first turn which can be scary if you have not set up your team yet.

The datamine also discovered a mode called Infernal which seems unplayable at the moment given that there are maps that have no units and maps with units that are impossibly high level. We aren’t sure yet if this mode will become available or might be a place holder for another feature.
