Random: This New Nintendo Patent Looks Like Nintendogs Running On A Smartphone
As we’ve reported previously in the past, Nintendo has a habit of registering patents for all sorts of novel hardware and software concepts. Typically, these take the form of weird peripherals such as bizarre bendable Joy-Con controllers – although Nintendo’s latest patent appears to be hinting at a familiar franchise working on a new platform instead.
In particular, Nintendo has filed a new patent for software that allows for players to control the placement of an object with their mobile screen. While this seems pretty generic on its own, Nintendo’s patent specifically shows a pet dog being moved around on screen to illustrate this mobile software in action – almost as if though were a pet simulation game like Nintendogs running on a smartphone.

Of course, it’s not clear if Nintendo actually has any future plans for this patent, or if the final product will actually feature any dogs. We’ll just have to wait and see if this goes anywhere in the future.
