It looks like visual novel and adventure fans will be sifting through a true mystery with the upcoming AI: The Somnium Files for Switch.
During a recent interview with NoisyPixel, direct Kotaro Uchikoshi elaborated more on the game’s story. Although there will be multiple paths, Uchikoshi remarked that there will be an ‘ultimate ending’ to tie every path back together! Additionally, Uchikoshi bluntly revealed the run-time of the game:
On whether there will be one path that answers all the player’s questions:
Similar to one of my previous titles, Virtues Last Reward, there’s a lot of multiple ways you can go through the game and each path reveals a little more information, but by going through the, what I’ll call the “Ultimate Ending”, will allow the player to see how everything comes together as it reveals itself.
Regarding the length of the game:
The game will probably take players 25 to 30 hours to complete.
Overall, AI: The Somnium Files looks to be shaping up just as well as (if not better than) Uchikoshi’s previous Zero Escape series! We’ll report back when we hear more about the story adventure in the future.
AI: The Somnium Files will be hitting Nintendo Switch on 17 September 2019. Pre-order your physical copy of the game now.
