A Redditor by the name of Tetsuo99997 has shared his experience of the HORI Left D-Pad Joy-Con which is launching in North America later this month.
According to Tetsuo, the infamous battery draining issue is still persistent and there is a short 1 to 2 second delay when waking the Switch up from Sleep Mode through the power or home button. In some cases, the controller fried someone’s Switch as they left it attached to the console too long.
This is surprising to hear as HORI has previously announced that the battery draining issue, which many Japanese users were complaining about, would be fixed by the time the controller is released in the west.
Unless HORI’s fix is through a firmware update from Nintendo, you will probably want to keep this in mind before purchasing the controller.
