Nintendo recently shared some updates sales figures for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has crossed another major sales milestone in Japan.
As documented by Japanese game sales database Game Data Library, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has hit 10.45 million units sold in Japan alone. This astonishing figure has allowed it to surpass the combined sales of the original Pokemon games on the Game Boy, definitively solidifying New Horizons as the best-selling videogame of all time in the country. Previously, New Horizons‘ sales had only surpassed the original Super Mario Bros. on Famicom, the best-selling single game outside of Pokemon.
At close to 10 and a half million, this new record seems unlikely to be topped any time soon, even with a brand new set of Pokemon games releasing just on the horizon. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments.
