Animal Crossing: New Horizons Will Still Support Amiibo Figures And Cards

During today’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, Nintendo confirmed that a fun extra feature from the series’ 3DS entries would make a return!

In particular, both amiibo figures and amiibo cards will be compatible with the game via the Joy-Con NFC reader. You can see this during the broadcast below (starts at 27:47):

Based on the game’s Japanese website, we also have more specifics about what players can do when scanning amiibo:

  1. Invite them to a photo studio (i.e. Photopia);
  2. Get a special poster of that villager (i.e. as a furniture item); and
  3. Invite the villager to the campground (only once per day)

What do you think? Excited to pull out those cards from storage? Feel free to share your thoughts below!

(Thanks, Brandon!)
