Something particular appears to be happening around Nintendo’s fighting game ARMS.
At the time of writing, the game’s official website is now inaccessible. If you attempt to visit it at arms.nintendo.com, you’ll be re-directed to the eShop page of 1-2-Switch instead.
Nintendo has been quiet about the matter. For now, many fans speculate that this is merely some sort of glitch – although others fear that Nintendo might be taking down the site for good. While ARMS sold pretty well for a new IP, the game did also lose popularity relatively fast – with major content updates drying up after just 6 months.
We’ll report back if we hear anything else about ARMS in the future. Stay tuned.
[EDITOR’S NOTE: It’s been highlighted by some that this is also happening to other major Nintendo websites right not, such as zelda.nintendo.com – so (thankfully) it’s no indicator of the ARMS franchise’s viability in Nintendo’s eyes. Still, it’s a little sad to see the vibrant ARMS website go the way of the dodo. We’ve updated the article to better reflect this perspective.]
