Earlier this month, the free-to-play racing game Asphalt 9: Legends made its debut on the Switch. Despite only being out for a short while, however, it looks like the game is garnering quite a bit of interest from Nintendo fans!
Gameloft recently reported that the game has already hit one million downloads, after just seven days on the Switch eShop. While it does offer microtransactions and paid items, the game also provides hours of free gameplay otherwise – which might be its biggest draw for many.
Gameloft’s VP of Strategic Partnerships, Guilherme Lachaut, commented on the incredible fanfare:
“Bringing Asphalt 9: Legends to Nintendo Switch is something we wanted to do for a long time, as we are great fans of this platform…It has been a strong request from our community and it translates today with one million downloads in a week. This is an incredible moment for us.”
